Our Rwanda single coffee is 100% Arabica. It is a fruity and well balanced sweet coffee with beautiful hints of cranberries and roasted to light to medium level.
This coffee is grown at 1,400 - 1,900 meters. It is from the varieties of Bourbon and Typica and it is a fully washed mix of coffees from 40 washing stations/farms in Rwanda. The coffee is hulled, graded and hand sorted at the Rwanda Trading Company in Kigali.
The East African nation of Rwanda is in the middle of the continent and located not far from Kenya, one of the world’s leading coffee-growing nations. The country is known for its Bourbon coffee beans in particular. These tend to have a full, creamy body that creates a heavy mouthfeel. The coffee also tends to be quite sweet with heavy overtones of caramel, cane sugar, cloves, and cinnamon. As is the case with other coffees from Africa, Rwandan coffee has pronounced fruit flavors. Depending on the specific coffee expect to taste lemon, oranges, and other citrus fruits. It’s also common to taste cherries, grapes, blueberries, and raspberries.
The western regions of the country are filled with plantations, as is the capital region of Kigali. It is considered the main coffee-growing hubs of the nation. In this region Usaid's Pearl program has organised farmer co-ops and it trained their members in farming techniques, coffee processing and sustainable coffee control to get best coffees of the nation.
All our coffee beans are roasted using traditional techniques and modern technologies to produce consistent, high quality coffees.
